Steering wheel

Post by johnz3 »

I have a 3.0i sport. The centre area of the steering wheel is not firm and 'moves in' before the horn engages. Can other 3.0 owners let me know if their Z is the same please. I would expect that the centre area would be pretty firm. Thanks

Check two Torx27 screws behind the wheel.

The airbag is designed to move in a few mm this allows the horn contacts to engage. If the airbag is loose then tighten up the Torx screws as suggested.

Hi, just tried my 2002 MTech sports wheel and that too flexes a lot in the centre and is not firm as you suggest. Hope that eases your worries, or causes me some!!
