Airbag Light Tool

Post by Trevsky »

After giving the car a good vacuuming under the seats at the weekend my airbag warning light came on, must have pulled one of the wires a bit hard. Last time the light came on, about three years ago, it cost me £75 at the dealer for them to tell me it was a seat belt pretensioner problem and turn the light out. I found this on ebay and decided for £15.99 to give it a go. Memo Scanner B800 SRS Airbag Reset Tool Diagnostic Scanner Code Reader for BMW.
I must admit I was very sceptical but it has done the job a treat so very happy.

Hi. My airbag light has just come on. Done nothing to make it so. Reading through a few posts someone mentioned about the seat being too low and something happenjng with the connections. So sat in the car and raised the seat. Light came on when starting and then went out so hopefully fine. My question is do I still need to reset the airbag light. Thanks

Sounds like the light in the instrument cluster went. I never heard of an airbag light resetting itself.

Simply moving the seat can be enough to bring the light on, as can water under the seats, so you don't necessarily need to DO anything to bring it on.

If it registers an error code and comes on, the error code has to be cleared to put the light out. I have never heard of one going out on its own either.

If the bulb has blown, then there is a secondary bulb/led that illuminates very dimly. You need to retest starting the car and see if the bulb is functioning correctly. If not, check again when it is dark and see if you have a dim airbag light on all the time.

Cheers R.
