Hi All, thought that I would expose this question to the oracles before heading in to ask the local BMW dealer how expensive they could make this.
I have a Z3 M44 and a trusty E91 Touring. Both have what appear to be the same size wheels (tyre measurements alone).
I thought that I would try to be clever and buy one set of winter wheels that would fit both cars ... hmm any comments please ?
I have not seen any Z3 with wheels that I have also seen on an E91 as yet... but I know someone out there will have been through this before.
I believe that the lovely Z shares a lot of undercarriage with the 3 series E30/E36 but the disc sizes and wheel offset stuff will no doubt be at odds given the gap between E30 and E90 builds.(?)
As always, appreciate feedback.
Cheers

Re: Winter tyres, wheel sizes question
Same question really
Trying to give myself more purchasing choice over the 225/16/50 factory fitment on a 1998 1.9
What widths and profile choices do I have ?
Could I fit 215 (or even 205) to my existing wheels ?

Re: Winter tyres, wheel sizes question
Try entering the details of both cars in a website such as this:
http://www.wheelbasealloys.com/alloy-wh ... er/16-inch#
and cross reference them to see if you can get the same wheel and tyre combination to suit both.
I know it's not that relevant to Z3 but I use 16" winter wheels with Dunlop SP winter sport 4D on my Scirocco R line as opposed to the standard 19" with P Zero summer tyre and the car feels fine on the smaller wheels.

Re: Winter tyres, wheel sizes question
If you use 16" winter wheels the tyre height must be increased to give the same rolling diameter as the 19"
assume 19s are 245 35 19 the 16s will have to be 205 60 16
Z3 can have standard 225 45 17 and the E 91 probably has 17" wheels as standard so as long as the E91 wheels are this they should fit ok.
Put you tyre sizes into this and play around with the numbers and you need to get the speedo reading the same with new setup.
It is not about bigger/smaller wheels as the diameter should stay the same.
Don't bother about offset and width at the moment as they should be about the same for the Z3 and E91.
