Showroom shine.

Post by Rafolian »

Received my pack of showroom shine waterless cleaner from the UK this week.
Done the Z with it today and must say quite impressive bit of kit. The car wasn't exactly filthy ( here in Spain it's mainly dust and I normally use the automatic car wash) but 2 main things impressed me, it's brilliant on all the glass inside and out and the rear hood window and it buffs up with very little effort and gives a lovely shine. Brought the style 18 alloys up a treat too!

Agreed (recently got a gallon tank from S/Shine's website for £30).

I always poo-pooed this stuff until I really used it properly.

I don't spray it on (too messy on breezy English days  - just pour on to cloth, gently rub round a panel and buff off (with a clean cloth for each panel). When I first used it on the Z3 (after washing with a reputable wax wash) the cleaning cloth had dark dirt patches where I'd got further dirt off.

So easy to use too (less hassle than wax polishing) and there is wax in with it too.
I say Soanes - park the Z3 would you? There's a good chap.

Is the result any different than good Carnuba wax?

Probably not, but it's easier, quicker and you can use it on black trim as well.
Not designed to protect for months, but because its so easy to use you can use it a lot more often and keep that pleasing 'just waxed look' more frequently, and of course you get a better finish than you would get after just a wash.

it smells of bubblegum too.

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

I see that it's in fact Carnuba Wax & emulsifier to remove the surface dirt.
You got to have Kahunas to use it on a dirty car.

I wouldn't use it to clean the car but as a wax to give a shine and ease of application its good to use. As said though the level of protection doesn't last long so required frequent use.
