Clock: Digital to Analog
Clock: Digital to Analog
It's an old subject with not definitive answer anywhere.
Can someone advise what analog clock is a retrofit for the rectangular digital clocks in the preface-lift console?
Much appreciated & have a nice weekend.

I don't think there is one that fits that space.

Here is a discussion - but I expect is only for facelift? as the analog clock PN 62138383663 is not suitable for the rectangular opening of the prefacelift.

Did they have digital and analog clocks on the facelift?

Re: Clock: Digital to Analog
Well a lot of help you all have been...
Upon inspiration from another creative zedder - I luckily found a rectangular analog wristwatch which seemed to be a perfect fit to modify an old defective Z3 digital clock '98.
The watch face is 38mm high and 36mm wide (Q&Q Quartz model #VR30J002Y)
eg http://www.skroutz.gr/s/5254010/Q-Q-VR3 ... =vr30j002y
I gutted the digital clock.
I proceeded to rework the front casing to accommodate the watch. (Open the front window and remove ribbing along the inner edges). One can machine it properly or botch it with a file & the help of a soldering iron
I also removed a notch for the time adjuster knob and added some support inside the barely-modified rear enclosure (only removed a notch for the knob)
Here is the final product. An improvement IMO.
After 7 years I can finally see the time before nightfall
BTW - if you cannot find the above mentioned watch - there is another watch that will work Q&Q # VQ92J002Y. It has a 38mmx38mm - although it will only fit into the front fascia and not inside the back - if glued into the front fascia -it can be supported by the ledges in the console.

Re: Clock: Digital to Analog
Great innovation with a classy result.
Re: Clock: Digital to Analog
who will fit a smart watch there, so you can also read your texts and emails
Z3 2.8 Progress Journal (Mine)
Z3 1.9 Sport Progress Journal (Wifey's)
I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..
Re: Clock: Digital to Analog
I installed e30 clock into my z3. A little bit modification need, but quite satisfy the result
Re: Clock: Digital to Analog
Wow, ZeroIam, is that your interior?? It is stunning! Love what has been done to the heater dials too.

Yeah - I think we need some more pics of your interior!!David wrote:Wow, ZeroIam, is that your interior?? It is stunning! Love what has been done to the heater dials too.
Re: Clock: Digital to Analog
And please spell out what modification was needed to fit the clock (and also what the PN of the E30 clock is)
I'm happy with my solution - but would be even happier if my analog clock was illuminated

View from another side.
I did not take a lot of picture during the processs. These pictures i can find in my computer hoping that it can give you a picture what i did. Actually, it is not difficult to do so.
The clock can be found easy in ebay.

Re: Clock: Digital to Analog
Is the dash vinyl wrapped in gloss black or painted? And can we see some pics of the heater controls?
Re: Clock: Digital to Analog
