Just a light enquiry here.....
anyone running or had a 2.8 and care to share which plugs they find/found to be the best and why.
I'm currently running NGK 3199 BKR6EQUP as recommended in a TSB
TSB Here:-

But,
I've spotted these NGK 6418 BKR6EIX IX Iridium Plugs and wondered if they are a worthy upgrade or a waste of money when compared to whats already installed, if worthy, what gap should they be?
The BKR6EQUP don't need gapping apparently.
I generally avoid Denso plugs based on mechanic friends recommendations and stories

Cheers Pingu,
Your 1st link is identical to my 1st link and refers to a High Power Spark Plug - Part: 12 12 9 071 003
which equates to NGK BKR6EQUP for my vin (06/1997 Z3 2.8 Roadster M52 Europe, Production Code: CJ32)
These plugs I currently have fitted.
I just spotted the "NGK 6418 BKR6EIX IX Iridium Plugs" as suitable alternatives on the NGK web Site (My 2nd link),
Im just wondering if anyone has any experience using these and would they consider these to be a better upgrade or a waste of money compared to the NGK BKR6EQUP currently installed
or recommend any better alternatives.
The main reason I ask is that I have a Ford Focus daily driver and whilst looking for suggestions on the best plugs to use for that,
I came across many forum posts experiencing problems with 4 x tipped plugs (burning out coils, fast worn electrodes to mention a few), the general consensus was 4 tip electrodes were best avoided.
Ive not had any problems myself using these 4 x tipped plugs in the Z3 over the last 3 years, but Id like to make sure she gets the best a Z can get.
