Re: Anyone recognise this?
I don't know the car, but even if HPI check would be clear, check the frontend for any (possibly poorly) repaired accident damage. It has the same exact symptoms as mine (Cat D been in a frontal crash): Front top bar/support (item #14 in this diagram) looks a bit wrinkly at places, the stickers look like they've been off while the bar has been repainted, and some clips attaching the headlight etc. wiring to the bar are missing. If the plastic cowling from underside the front is missing, you've certainly got a car that's been crashed.
Also, although I am not sure about this at all as I've seen so few Z3/Z3M engine bays, I think the bar should be of matt colour, not shiny body colour, which could indicate front repair.
The best thing really is to do the HPI check, and if all good, go and check the car yourself. Good luck!

I dont recognise it from here but may well have been on here previously. On the face of it it looks a good buy, especially considering the hardtop... maybe a hard bit of bargaining and you could get < 10K??

Re: Anyone recognise this one?
Fitted with 6 speed manual?? Be great if it has, but would have thought they would have mentioned more about the conversion. Suspect it's a tippo or someone just hasn't realised they have a 5 speed manual gearbox.

I notice the BHP drops from 321 to 316 as you scroll down the page.... good thing it ends there or it may end up dropping further...

Re: Anyone recognise this?
It is certainly not 'original,' if it has a six-speed gearbox - the all-black grilles look pretty awful too. The vendor also should make up his mind if it has 'Front fog lamps,' not to metion 321 or 316 (?) bhp. The rear apron has a large gap between the exhaust pipes, which makes it look as if it came off a facelifted 2000-on model, with the centre lower trim panel removed.
At a guess, this car has been rebuilt with whatever parts came to hand. Not with a barge pole . . .

Re: Anyone recognise this?
I don't think the rear panel is wrong. Just been out to look at mine and the centre section between the pipes is at a different angle to the lower parts of the bumper on the outsides of the pipes that makes it more difficult to see. The photo casts the centre section in shade but I think that it is just possible to make out the two cut outs for the silencers.
The estoril cars are definitely a very different "flatter" shade of blue on the slam panel compared to the main body panels but I don't know about red cars. I don't like the red engine cover but each to their own. This car looks quite tidy to me and it is priced more or less correctly. Remember we all got very suspicious of the Scottish M on here a while back (me too!) but it turned out to be genuine enough.

Re: Anyone recognise this?
Thank you all thus far.
Got some of the posters from the ad myself, but this is now a comprehensive list to go with.
Dealer not bothered to reply to my em request.
They obviously don't know much about BMW's do they? And don't reply so perhaps don't want to sell cars either. I don't get some people these days. Replying to a potentially interested buyer seems to make a tad of sense.....
Hey ho.
More anon.
