Was browsing some Z3's on autotrader and pistonheads earlier today (as you do) - and entered the VIN of one that was particularly nice and was surprised to find this listed under the options:
S268a - BMW light-alloy star-spoke 95
quick google shows that it is a 19" alloy that was an option on a 7 series
it was an individual z3 and also had ///m-sport blue and black leathers - didn't have these alloys still unfortunately - someone has changed them to radial 32's at some point
must have looked awesome when brand new with those on (and cost a small fortune to boot lol)

Are these the best factory-fit alloys on a Z3 ever!?

'01 Z3 3.0i with black leathers - a.k.a 'The Rebel'
Re: Are these the best factory-fit alloys on a Z3 ever!?
That's very unusual, I didn't think any Z3 came off the production line fitted with anything larger than a 17 inch wheel.

Even in 2003 21 inch whels were very few and far between, and were not an optional extra on the Z3.
I do not think the advertiser means factory-fitted options, but wheels an owner has fitted in the quest to be at the forefront of fashion! I would have thought that 21 inch wheels with rubber band-type would be the last thing anyone wants on the potholed roads of the UK, but so many enthusiasts are more concerned with fashion than function . . .
I did not think they even look good, being an obvious 'lift' from a large saloon, and the design would make it almost impossible to clean their inner areas, but I suppose some people are not concerend about having these parts covered in a film of brake dust.

Sorry - 19 inch then - but the same comments apply . . .
I will now be told that this is the optimum size for a Z3, etc etc etc!

Never an official option for the Z3.
The largest official, options at the time where 18 inch AC Schitzers
Plus I did not think the 7 series wheel offsets would ever fit a Z3 but I'm a little rusty with those specs
I would politely suggest the seller is, erm talking a load o bollocks

I would have thought that the 7 Series wheels would not only have an unsuitable offset, but also have a different wheel bolt pitch and spigot diameter - like the 5 Series wheels, which require adaptors to fit a Z3.

Front the first post it would appear that the OP checked the VIN for its original specification and the code that came up was:
S268a - BMW light-alloy star-spoke 95
As said, style 95 was never a Z3 option (confirmed by the ETK), they are an E65 7 series wheel and an ET21 offset.
