Braided brake hoses

Post by Mor61e »

Just a bit of a heads up really

Bought a full set of Hel brake hoses off their ebay shop and if you buy any accessory you get 25% off the whole order

Ended up with stainless bleed nipples all around and some extra clips because I've read the hoses can slip through the standard fittings

Yet to fit them but was in case anyone was looking at getting some anyway :)

Take some pics when you install the clips please, the hoses do fall through the standard fittings as the hex head is too small, I put some repair washers on mine to stop this happening.

P.S. OT. Just learnt that if you highlight a small amount of text in a post and press quote, it only quotes that text :)

Just noticed the copper crush washers.Presume these are for the calliper ends.Do you need these in place.I took advice from H.E.L.and there was no mention of fitting crush washers.

I found the hose fitting tool long to use crush washers, they just sat spinning around sandwiched between the hose fitting and caliper.

I found just the opposite. The hose fitting fits snugly against the calliper body and I thought it likely if a washer was fitted the primary seal would not work.
