Can you add Andy McDonnell mate to the list. He'll be coming to Newark with me and Brilie.

Hi to you all. Is there a subscription to pay or is it done at the venue ?
Is the meet-up at the venue at 10:00 hrs or if not then at what time ?
I am probably coming the furthest distance 9 180 miles) and probably the longest time - allowing for a comfort stop or two I am looking at circa 4hrs 30mins.
Happiness is a well kept Z3 and preferably running with the hood down - weather permitting.

Hi Colb. The reason that I asked was because this was the first post on the topic with your original as the 2nd one !!!
Unless of course there was another earlier alert as to the cruise/meet-up.

Hi to you all. I have taken note and I am aiming to meet you at the Newark Lorry Park but failing that I will just continue on to the venue largely depending on the clouds that could be gathering.
I must be honest but the Sheffield - Stocksbridge By-pass -M1 - A57 - A1 - A17 - A153 and onward looks like an easy'ish run albeit I am much more familiar with the M6 - A50 and onward route.

Hi all, a quick update for you.

I have just confirmed our arrival at East Kirkby as it was back in the winter when I first arranged this. As we have, at present, 25 cars the charge will be reduced fro £7.50 to £5 per person. Most of us will be cruising together ETA East Kirkby 1100 and they will be parking us as requested ALL together. Those that make your own way, the staff say they will guide you to our parking area. Just say you are with the BMW Z3/4 meet. I don't want to get involved with money, so I've said you'll pay individually when you arrive. I'm still not sure where some folks are meeting us, so any chance of letting us know..tks.
The weather looks not bad for Sunday, so keep ya fingers crossed!

See you Sunday

Hi Koolflyer. According to my AccuWeather.com forcast the weather looks to be showers - and June/July is normally excelent weather for hood-down driving - all day.
If the weather turns nasty in the ealy morning would there still be a Washed-out cruise and especially since the airfield is by definition - out in the open ?
Driving times are likely to be seriously affected - especially for those of us that are putting in 3 to 4hrs apart from the fact that it could be a rather spoiled day out.
Happiness is a well kept Z3 and preferably running with the hood down - weather permitting.

Although I hate this damn weather like the rest of us, I've learnt that with these 'hopefully' top down drives you have to stay positive and hope for the best. RockyDave and I will be going on the basis that it's unusual to be raining ALL day. Obviously it's your call at the end of the day. We do need to stick to the timings, so perhaps looking at the forecast the night before it might be wise to allow some extra time? Please also note, that when confirming yesterday, apparently they will be closing between 1530-1600 as it's a special reunion day and not normally open on a Sunday. Cafe and normal facilities will however be open. Some folks have a way to travel so hopefully not a problem.

Hi to you all. Well it's Sods Law. After reluctantly putting my 2000 (W) Z3 2.0ltr Roadster complete with Hardtop and all fittings + trolley cover and all the associated extras up for sale - it was sold this afternoon after several attemps.
At pushing 71 years young I have been experiencing more and more difficulty in getting in and out (knees and hips) and especially in the rather cramped parking spaces that was continually the cause of unpleasant rhetoric with the often very selfish and extremely ignorant 'Joe Public'

The bottom-line is I will not be going to the meet as it is no-longer mine after Saturday afternoon. despite the post earlier this morning about the probability of a not so good days drive to East Kirkby.

I am however staying with BMW in the form of a 3 Series 325Ci Automatic Convertible

Thank you one and all for your camaraderie and support when I have called for it. Enjoy your cruise and the day at East Kirkby - safe driving to you all.

Hi to you all. Further to my recent post - it certainly looks like I missed a very very nice day out and meet-up and despite the likelihood of a rather dull day with the possibility of showers it looks and sounds like it didn't go the way the weather people were predicting.
It was a trip that I was really looking forward to but the reluctant sale of my Z3 all came together rather prematurely and the "New to me" 325 Ci Convertible swap-over happend on the Saturday afternoon before the planned trip/meet-up and within hours of having what turned out to be my last Cystoscopy after having firstly had a Bladder Cancer Tumour removed in 2010 and very recent Prostatectomy - I have thankfully been declared clear and as good as new again.

I was really torn between coming over in the 325 Ci and tempting providence with a completely unfamiliar car.

I would like to thank you all for my time on the Z3 Forum and especially for the help and advice that I received whilst owning my Z3.

Safe and Happy Driving to you all - with and or without the the wind in your hair or on your streamline heads.

If any current member aquires my Z3 reg number W811 ULD or a current member knows of someone aquiring it then I would be only to pleased to help with any queries at-all.
Happiness is a well kept Z3 and preferably running with the hood down - weather permitting.

Hi Rooster, yes you did miss out on a beautiful sunny top down 'wind in the wires' day, however you went with your gut feeling which in the end I'm sure was the right decision given your circumstances. Enjoy your 325 Ci and safe driving too. :thumb:

Hi Koolflyer. Thank you very much - now I am going to need to find another forum as zroadster.net is a Z only forum.

Hopefully it will be as informative and friendly as this one has been during my time on board.

Firstly - I wish you all the best on your successful road to recovery.

Secondly, while this is a forum for Z owners it's also a forum for Z lovers, and a forum for good honest and genuine people. I've lived your posts over the past few years and would gladly follow you and your chosen car to any meet. You don't need a zed to be on here - you just need personality and love of cars - you have both

Hi bertiejaffa. Thank you most sincerely for those very kind words and it is quiter reasuring to know that the forum is not specifically for owners of the Z series.

I will be looking in periodically and as I get the E'mail alerts to the various posts/topics that I had subscribed to.

Regards to you and to all,
