Wheel offset question

Post by Alan W »

The wheels on my facelift car are 7Jx16 ET41 all around.. l am looking at some staggered 8Jx17 front and 9Jx17 rear which are all ET35. Does this difference in the offset mean that the 17's will extend more or less in towards the suspension? Many thanks..

Really need to know tyre size(s) but you can put the numbers in HERE to get the answer.

All the wheels will move 6mm outward but when you take the increased width of the wheel into consideration the rears which are approximately 50mm wider or 25mm each way.your wheel inside clearance will decease by 19mm.on the fronts the inside clearance will decrease by roughly 6mm. That is just the rims. As has been said tyre choice will also have a bearing, and unless stretched will further reduce inside clearances.
