Bucket seat sliders/side mounts

Post by ben5010 »

Hi All,

I'm looking to upgrade my drivers seat to a fixed back seat, the standard seat provides hardly any support around corners, even with seat spacer mod installed.

I'm struggling to find a UK supplier for the sliders and mounting brackets, ideally i would like to use sliders but fixed is an option.

What setup does everyone run?

Thanks

I Have these in my car, Sparco R100 seats, Sparco Manual Adjusters and Planted seat bases. The bases are about as expensive as the seats but as it is a safety item I did not mind.

That's interesting. I was wondering how after-market seats got fitted.

I guess there's about £400 a side of seat and mounting there? Or more if the seats are leather rather than vinyl?

What's the harness for if they are manual?

Okay, so that assembly get's transferred from the original seat then? Makes sense.

But isn't the yellow part of the connector usually the one on the car and it's a black connector on the seat harness?

No, this is the standard way, I just swapped it over. On the passenger seat I had to use an airbag seat occupancy bypass box of tricks to simulate somebody sat in the seat, the downside of this is that if the airbags do fire both will go off even if nobody is in the passenger seat. Once this was fitted I used INPA to check the status of the seat and all is good.
