Re: tool box
They have a black Friday event coming up on the 25th of this month I think....so they might be even cheaper, I try not to buy from Halfords but some times you have to for convenience etc.......their advanced range of tool\socket sets are highly rated tho,
and come with a free lifetime no quibble replacement guarantee, so that makes that a no brainer...

The Advanced stuff is excellent. Just avoid paying full price for it as it's frequently on sale. And definitely never pay full price for one of the big socket sets.
Buying bits sockets etc individually is expensive at Halfords and I use Machine Mart or sometimes Screwfix. If I can get the same make stuff cheaper and I'm not in a hurry I use ebay. Trouble is you're often in a hurry for a tool..
These are a good price at Halfords currently and are a decent tool. They are my main screwdrivers in my Z3 toolbox.

These were a right bargain. Ordered this week to try and get some stubborn suspension nuts off with a breaker bar. £12 although the seller has raised the price now.

I just bought a 90-piece for £60 (I'll collect it later on the way to work - so I don't even need to make a special trip). Usual price is £150. Usual discount price is £75.lordhelpus wrote:They have a black Friday event coming up on the 25th of this month I think....so they might be even cheaper, I try not to buy from Halfords but some times you have to for convenience etc.......their advanced range of tool\socket sets are highly rated tho,

I should also get £1.50 from Quidco as I'll be paying in-store with my credit card (2.5% cashback) .
Happy Days

This is a great little Halfords Pro set 1/4". I use it all the time, more than my 1/2" set. It's not a £60 set though. I paid £30 during the last promotion.

Have been looking for a good quality 1/2" wrench. Checked out this on youtube, the guy makes me laugh and knows his stuff. Sadly all the names he mentions are serious money.
So looking at this:

or this, if anyone has any views:

Re: tool box
I've never seen Halfords advanced socket sets at anything other than half price, a bit like a DFS sale. They are good though except the box doesnt keep the sockets in place when closed, so you either have to keep the box upright or use the bit of foam to keep them in place, which quickly disintegrates.

I know what you mean, I have also only ever seen them at half price, never cheaper....... lets see if the black Friday event has any effect on the price.John Wilson wrote:I've never seen Halfords advanced socket sets at anything other than half price, a bit like a DFS sale.
