What price genuine diff carrier bushes

Post by Flight »

I intended to replace my stiff poly rear diff hanger bush with a softer genuine rubber mount, until I realised the price, £145 00 plus vat, from my local stealer. This is part number 33172228425 can anyone suggest a cheaper supplier.
Many thanks

You could try Danny Walker at bmwpartsonline.co.uk (sales@bmwpartsonline.co.uk) - he orders back-to-back from BMW in Germany so can pass on a decent discount, as long as you don't mind waiting a week or two to get the part.

I have no affiliation, other than having recently saved money by buying from him! :)

Another alternative that maybe a little more forgiving than poly and certainly better value than OEM !

£140ish is the price now. They used to be £0ish, but BMW had to have some more made to the original pattern and obviously didn't have the economy of scale from when they were originally made.

The only alternative that I know of is non-OEM.

If it were me, I'd try to negotiate as good a deal as I could from the dealer, bite the bullet and cough up, but I understand why most wouldn't.

Another alternative would be a salvage diff cover, or even a salvage diff as long as the bush is in good condition.

EBay has some..... Just cos it's not oem and is a pretty colour doesn't mean it's worse or stiffer.
The red ones are probably the same but £22

New price £178.99, but Danny Walker can supply for £165.00. Probably cheaper than boot floors. Thanks for all replies

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

I would double check that it comes with a bush fitted.

Make sure that you can return it for cash if it doesn't arrive with one.

There's more that one BMW dealer in the country - and most, if not all, will deliver.
