Fixtures for fuel filter replacement

Post by DanHolman » Thu 11 May, 2017 10:02

Hi all,

I'm going to attempt replacing my fuel filter (long overdue), and I want to replace the short lengths of hose either side that join the filter to the fuel line, because they have been on the car for 14 years...Does anyone know what diameter and type/rating fuel line I need? oh and what diameter are the clips?

Many thanks

It'll be 8mm internal diameter hose that is rated for fuel injection. The hose clips are dependent on the outer diameter of the hose, typically around 13-15mm. The really important thing is that the hose is rated for fuel injection, as there is still plenty of hose for carburetter cars around, which will just burst.

This is what I have on my car:

with these clips:

Now I can buy the right parts before starting the job. Many thanks.

Much appreciated Bladerunner.
