Mounting a hardtop

Post by Z3crazy »

Hi guys and gals,

I bought my Z3 without a hardtop and mounting lugs, but i'm in the market for one now ( i'm in Holland, so don't tell me you know of one in, say, West Bromwich).

I'm just wondering how easy or hard it is to fit one from scratch. Any ideas or experiences are welcome :)

Cheers

Morning; go online and type in:

Hopefully that'll be a good start for you

Thanks Rory, i also downloaded the the pdf mentioned at the bottom of the first pdf "Z3 hardtop first fitting".

All in all quite a deconstruction and rebuild, with some special tools and juggling about. We'll see how i get on (if i take up the challenge). I'd rather strip a Goldwing down

It's not difficult. I fitted the brackets to a friend's car in a car park with basic tools and the seller of the hardtop helped me adjust it to get a good fit. The adjustments are fiddly, but mainly because you have to keep lifting the roof on and off. Once adjusted it pops on and off easily.

Cheers R.

In case you're interested I have a Topaz Blue hardtop with mounting kit for sale at £900.

I'm a good 80 miles south of West Bromwich too ;)
