off line for a bit

Post by peter2b »

been off line since mid December due to bt problems, thought I would give you guys an update back in November I had a shadow show on my right lung at the top, so on the16th Nov I went to Wythenshawe hospital for key hole surgery but things went tits up 3 weeks later I was discharged minus my right lung due to an infection, they think they got every bit of csncer tissue out, been home for a few weeks now slowly getting better lost 11kg , been using swmbo palates weights trying to get my strength back, she's stuffing my at both ends trying go get more weight on as I start chemotherapy on the 20th for 3 weeks to mop anything that might be left up, fortunately she likes my z3 so has been using it for the odd run out.

FFS dude. Really sorry to hear that. Had way too much experience of that one with people close to me recently.

I hope you make a good recovery and have plenty to look forward to ahead of you.

Really sorry to hear this, Peter. I went through two long sets of chemo treatment nearly 20 years ago, so I know some of what you are going through. Hope the chemo goes well and wish you a speedy recovery.

If you mean by minus the lung that they removed it, then you might like to know an uncle of mine - born in the nineteenth century so in the primitive era of medicine - had only one lung after the other was removed, and he managed pretty well on the remaining one. Good luck, whatever they decide for you. Cancer is a right bastard, but you can fight it - do it!

All the best for taking that in your stride and coming through it with a great result.

When my best friend was having treatment he said 'Chemo had the big C' and 'cancer had the small c'.

Your mental approach to give it a kick in the nuts is so important!
