A random problem seems to have developed on my alarm. It seems to "beep" at random intervals, and occasionally the siren goes off whilst I'm driving. Pushing the button on the (brick type) fob stops this. The central locking does not actuate when this happens. When I press the fob, the alarm sets properly and remains set until fob pressed again.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this? Seen the thread about wiring loom in the boot - any connection?
Any help gratefully received!
Richard
Alarms yet again
Re: Alarms yet again
Check for water in the left hand well in the boot, behind the side trim. The tilt switch sits in the bottom if there and it doesn't like getting wet. It has been known the cause of the alarm going off whilst driving.
If it's not that, or you are already having central locking problems, then definitely take a closer look at the boot loom. A short in there could be the cause.
