Hi

There's a bit more involved than just changing the caliper.

The Z3M caliper has 60/28 stamped on it which means that it has a 60 mm piston and designed for 28 mm thick disks. Plus the disk is 315 mm in diameter.

Your 1.9 L Z3 has a 54/12 caliper and 286 mm diameter disks.

To fit the Z3M caliper, you need to fit the Z3M disk which leads to fitting the Z3M caliper carrier, which may not fit the non M hub. Plus you need to consider if your master cylinder can drive the larger 60 mm piston in the Z3M caliper and how it will affect brake bias.

The usual brake upgrades for the 1.9 L Z3 are:
- Fit face lift model ventilated disks, carrier and calipers, same size piston and disk, just keep cool better.
- Fit 3.0 L Z3 carriers, calipers and disks. 300 mm disks, same size pistons

These two options have been designed by BMW for the Z3, so they will be safe.

Brakes are a major safety system in the car, so you need to check your local laws etc on what you are allowed to change and whats needs some sort of certification.

Hope that helps.

The Z3M king pins are different, so you need them.Basically buy the entire legs, calipers, king pins, hubs, bearings, disc protection plates,,anti roll bar, drop links ,the lot.

And the discs of course. As for bias and such like. I have gone from 275 mm front discs with single piston calipers to 365mm discs with 6 piston calipers with no ill effects in the past and the car does not swap ends.
