More Z3 storage

Cleaning the interior of Z3 yesterday I noticed that on the plastic cover on the seat frame, both seats, just behind the reclining lever, a moulded recess which measures approx 100 x 40 x 30mm. my first thought was, ah stiffening, but then realised thar it really did not require stiffening, so, knowing that BMW always have reasons for these things concluded that it was intended as extra storage, so I now call upon the collective wisdom of Z3 owners, what could be stored in it ???
