Post by JamboZ3m »

Hi :D

Been browsing the site for a month or so now, been looking for an Mroadster to replace my Astra Gsi.
Found one last week and picked it up today and im in love allready. The noise is just awe inspiring!

I love having a convertible and think it looks lovely

Got a 1998 Estoril M with 65k and FBMWSH.

Heres a pic:

Interior was filthy so im off to clean it now, will post better pics for you all later.

I need a new gear nob though as mines all loose and cracked, wheres the best place to get one?

Welcome to the forum Jambo. Lovely looking ///M. Congratulations on the purchase.

Re the gear knob - some members have changed theirs to the Stainless Steel weighted item by Storm Motorwerks. Here is a pic of Gazza's -

You might want to look on ebay for a replacement illuminated OEM one or try here -

That silver one looks ace :)

I think im going to stick with the illuminated one tho, does it have to specifically for the Z3m or does an E36/46 fit the same?

Just managed to snap the clip holding the seatbelt on the drivers seat as well lDOH! :head: GOing ot need one of them too!

According to that web site, the e46 one does not fit the e36. The e36/7 one is the item you need for the Zed

You can get them from the $tealers. Not an expensive item. Here's a link for a better fitting guide. It's an improvement on the way BM fitted them.

Looks great - Estoril is a fantastic colour. For me, my top 2 choices for colours for the MC were Estoril vs Dakar - and looking at the pic reminds me of why I like Estoril so much.

Re the shift knob - my favourite is the retrimmed illuminated OEM one from LeatherZ here:

http://leatherz.com/Merchant2/merchant. ... hift_Knobs

Can choose matte or bright chrome, leather type and colour for the accents and the shift pattern on the top. Although I seem to recall LeatherZ might have run out of the blue leathers.

If you're anything like me though - looking at that site can be expensive - I love their stuff and it has burned a significant hole in my wallet over the years :) ...
