Braided Clutch hose? Where from?

Post by scott_johnson »

Hey all!! After just purchasing an M Roadster, ive booked in for a service at a local specialist.

Ive ordered a new throttle cable and been told a braided clutch hose is a worth while mod...

Has anyone done it, and where can i get one from??

Cheers

Clutch Cable

Post by Fender2004 »

When changing the clutch cable on a z3 2.8, is it just a case of unbolting the old one, and then connecting the new one in its's place? Then bleeding the system. Is there anything I should know before I start :rtm:

Er, that most people find it an absolute pain in the arse to do!!

The top joint it hard to find at first, think it's 14 or 15mm flats above the rubber grommet on the bulkhead. If working on axle stands prepare for brake fluid to run down you arms  Bleeding the system, I use a pressure bleeder, the slave cylinder can be blead as long as it's kept in the same position as it would be normally (the bleed nipple at about 2oclock) as the bleed hole is then at the top it's just that thebleed nipple is on the side. Or to make sure, compress the slave whilst bleed, but makesure you don't release it as it'll suck air in.

Also ensure you locate the slaveproperly back inthe gearbox, if you don't nad press the cluch down it may just blow itout.

Change the gearbox oil too. I recently did this mod with an oil change to my ///MR and it has transformed the car for the better.
