What colour wheels (refurb)

Post by scott_johnson »

You guys will be getting sick of my posts soon!! lol

Just thought id get some expert opinions!!

I have a 99 titanium silver m roadster and the wheels are in need of some tlc. I was thinking of having them powdercoated... should i go for :

* Full anthracite (grey) including lips
*Full black including lips
* chrome lips with black or anthracite centres.

Hopefully gunna try get some spacers aswell to make it wider... 15mm all round?? Or maybe 15mm rear, 10mm front!

Titan has gone for the black chrome on his Titanium Silver motor and they look good. See his thread, 'wheels refurbished'.

I could call mine black chrome, but it is just brake dust.

In my mind shiny needs more shiny.

I was thinking what to do on mine, same as yours S50 in titanium.

I was going to get the S54 shadow chrome but picked up some that had just been refurbed in the bright silver and to honest I think suit the Titanium really well (they are almost the same colour).

Personally I don't think all black would suit titanium except as track wheels.

Down to personal taste and I would like either bright silver, chrome silver or anthracite / chrome rims

It's your call Scott but I'd suggest you go and see Brian at The Wheel Specialist in Leeds and talk to him.
He's got examples of all the finishes available and you'll get a much better impression by putting them next to your car :colourful:

Obviously I like my "brake dust" chrome and personally dislike black wheels on (most) Zs.
However, if you're still unsure, try pink - we've never seen man M with those :D

Ha, i'll let you off then!

Sorry to hack the thread.

It was an emotional return. She came round the corner from quite far away and I fell back in love with her but....
as she got closer i reailsed the alarm noise I could hear was coming from her, and as she went past me she was covered in a horrible whie dust the police put on to check for finger prints.
I was thinking 'Can get the alarm sorted and give her a good bath' but then i opened the door. Theyve taken absolutly every thing from old CD's and sun glasses, to last years recovery paper work and even a pack of playing cards. They have also taken 2 air vents, a peice that fits in between the seats, door handle covers but more annoying they have ripped of the armrest/doorpuller thingy! God only knows why.

I go to Ibiza friday so i have taken it 'home, home' and put it in the garage, i dont want to think about it or see it until I return. Although I did order a new remote Key today.
