when i see a car with "very thick history/ lots spent/many receipts"
I just think it breaks regularly and its a 'friday' car.
After all, my Z3 has cost me the most money in upkeep out of all my BM's. so does that make it a better car to buy? just cos I have lots of receipts??
Fun at a price, I sometimes wish I had no receipts like some of my other ones.

Z3 1.9 Sport Progress Journal (Wifey's)

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

I think I agree with that. Although I don't use mine many months at all (due to the artic tundra style weather in northern Scotland) it does have an incredibly comprehensive history. However, this is not due to it having problems breaking down, but components probably not bring used sufficiently. With an m/// I would definitely need a history if I was ever to buy another one, just due to the fact it's an m/// and all the additions which come with it

Gentleman, Gentleman. You are all being very sceptical. A thick history file just means just that: all receipts, service records etc. since new. Car is and has been very reliable and is given run now and then, when roads are dry through out the winter when I need reminding how much fun it is ................... Just tell me I am doing the wrong thing to sell it!

If you have any hesitation or doubt at all then surely that is all the indication you need that this is not the right time to sell.

The only time you should sell a car is when you KNOW it is the right thing to do.

If you have doubts or worries, just wait, and have a serious rethink.

Remember the Z3 is a modern classic, and these will be worth a lot more money in 30-40 years...so keeping one now and looking after it makes sense.

Yellow peril. That is the right choice to make.

I think there is a saying: when you don't know what to do, do nothing.

Always be sure in your choices. Second guessing and doubts mean you are not sure.

I have now purchased a 2008 335i convertible and although a fantastic drive, it doesn,t offer the 'GRIN' factor of the Z3m.
