Centre console mystery bulb

Post by M3BMC »

Fixing a few niggling faults I discovered a stray bit of wiring with a nice bright bulb on the end. I thought i had knocked it out of place when changing my clock recently. I presumed that it illuminated the air con switch but having removed the switch i see that all the switches are complete units without seperate bulbs. All the other dials are fully illuminated so i don't know where the bulb should live<a href="http://s689.photobucket.com/albums/vv25 ... The stray bulb is visible above

Does anyone know if switch 4 is usually lit. The lights come on very brightly when the switch is activated (as per photo) but should also have a subdued backlight as switches 1,3 & 5 do?

Not the end of the world but I just wanted to tidy things up behind the console. Thanks to anyone who shed any additional light on this :)

Ah that makes sense, as that does have some protrusions at the back that could possibly secure the bulb. I completely overlooked the ciggy lighter being a non smoker. Thanks v much
