When I press the front fog light switch the "tyre" warning light comes on on the dash.
Anyone else had similar. Seems obvious it is a bad connection somewhere but.....

They don't but they still have the switch/button.
I recently had a headlight out and not sure with this is when it started.
The headlight going did blow the fuse as well. When I went to replace the bulb my local parts store could not find a match to the one that had come out of "Bruce". The bulb in him was also not the same as listed in the Bentley manual. The wattage was different; higher than it should be. The connector was also different; straight on the bulb that came out and angled on the replacement.

i would start with the bulb its causing a short from the sounds of it it may have different connection inside it thats causing the electric to run of in different directions (had the same issue on an old car of mine but the dash lit up lick a christmass tree 
the badness makes me do it...!

Its not a foglight switch it's for the TPW (Tyre Pressure Warning ) system. A short press and release is a test to see the light works. A long press (until the light comes on) and then release resets the system. So its a re-purposed switch!
It has the standard front foglights picture next to it!

The LH switch is the TPW, the RH switch is the rear foglight.

Perhaps your switches have been out and replaced incorrectly.
