wobbly seat

Post by miller1098 »

seems to be a load of seat probs lately so i thought i'd have some.mine are in the passenger side. one of the bolts at the back of the seat that hold the subframe to the actual seat has the head snapped off, its really hard to try and get the remainder of the bolt out as its broken flush with the runner had to give up tonight ,im going to try drilling it out tomorrow ,might even get a chance to replace the seat bushesImage

It's a simple procedure, if you have a set of taps. eg. You drill a new hole for a 6mm thread (5,8mm bit) and tap a new thread into the hole. Then screw a 6mm bolt with 2 nuts on it into the new hole, and tighten the lower nut up to the broken bolt, and lock the second nut to the lower nut. Then unscrew the 6mm bolt and the broken piece will unlock and come out. Might be good to squirt some WD40 onto the broken bolt first...
