Z3M New owner

Post by Joycey »

Evening all

I have been a Zed owner now for 4 years. I have a 2.8 which had one owner previous to me and decided to pass it onto my old man to enjoy. I believe it is worth much more to me then it is in money.

So with that I have well and truly got the bug and decided to upgrade to an M. I have always been an active member and tend to sit in the background reading all the posts but I was looking and hoping for an S54 to turn up.

I narrowly missed a couple but decided now to settle on an S50. Some of you may have seen the pearlescent white Zed on piston heads for the last year, which I had been keeping an eye on leading up to new year.

The owner I also know from the PH forums and watching his progress on a Noble he's being racing and bringing up to spec not to mention the care and attention to detail he pays all his cars.

So for the grand finale here she is:

I still find her breath taking to look at. I'm looking forward to some sun because the purple really shows and glows.

Spec: 58,000 Miles
Full BMW service history
Koni Adjustable suspenison
Koni Strut Brace
Diamond, black drilled n groove brakes
Short Shifter
Clutch Upgrade
New Soft Top
Pearlescent White Wrap Original colour is Arctic Silver

Future jobs: Passenger seat raise and lower setting has stopped working
Door seal drivers side split
Slight seat discolouration drivers side

Hope you guys like my write up and see you all at the next Zed meets.

Regards

Joycey

Funnily enough I replied to your post on the meet thread about the next one and saw your new sig and thought, hmmm… don't remember that car last time!!!

A lovely looking car, congratulations on your purchase. You've said it's a Koni strut brace, but it looks identical to the Strong strut version (which is a great piece of kit).

Looks a nice purchase. I do like that wrap can you post some more pics up but in the day light? Joycey how does that Koni suspension setup feel compared to the BMW setup on your previous car?

Thanks for the Pm Althulas I actually have that seal kit in my watch list. I will post some day light photos up over the weekend so keep an eye on this thread.

As for the suspension I was just having the same conversation with my dad, I decided to keep my old zed in the family and signed it over to him. But I strongly recommended changing the whole set-up and buying a strut brace. When entering a corner and exiting you have so much more confidence and feel more planted. Also when going over bumps the spring rate is not to harsh it absorbed bumps without the whip lash(Koni's are in the softest setting at the moment).

But I know the suspension on the 2.8 is 16 years old so that might explain it (and its starting to weep). I have also had no tram-lining issues what so ever in the M(I put this down to the brace).

If any of you are around at the Blackbushe meet your more than welcome to come and feel it for yourselves and see the difference.

I never liked BMW's before I got my Z3, now I wish I'd got one before.
Yours looks ace and I really want to start looking to get a better one than the one I already have.
I would start doing my one up but the mileage is way too high to make it worth it.
Nice pics of your car!
