Replaced ABS Sensors - ABS Light still on...

Post by BostonGreenZ3 »

Hi everyone

I've just replaced the ABS Sensors on my car

Unfortunately the ABS light is still on

I have a fault code reader which is saying ABS Sensors still faulty and a 'hardware monitoring fault'??? Code B8

Does anyone know what this means, could it be a faulty ABS Module?

Many thanks

Hi Shirley, silly questions but.....
Have you driven the car since you replaced the ABS sensors? Sometimes the wheels need to turn to get the module back into gear so to speak.
Did you clean the toothed wheels that the sensors read? Often these get clogged with magnetic material and the sensors cannot sense!
If you still have issues then you may need a code reader which can identify which sensor, or control module is causing the fault rather than a generic "it's a hardware monitoring fault". You need to be sure that you know that the ABS control module is faulty before considering replacement.

Hi Chris

Thank you for your reply

Yes, the car has been driven since ABS Sensors changed

No, the toothed wheels haven't been cleaned, I will get my other half to clean them for me

The ABS is a real nightmare LOL, all the other faults have been corrected, but this one is still ongoing grrrrrr

Have a nice weekend
