Calipers Repair Kit

Post by the_youth »

I've got a spare set of calipers and thinking about giving them a full refurb then swapping them with the ones currently on my M.
Anyone know/recommend where best to get full kit from?

I've used the Big Red "mini" kit on another car i.e. just the piston seals and dust covers - it was fine. I have seen a couple of posts on this forum in the past for people who have used their kits with no issues. They also do an "extended" kit which includes a new piston as well. I'm not a professional, but my understanding is that if the internal wall of the calliper has any rust/pitting, then a refurb. kit is not the best option. For the Z3 I have bought "remanufactured" callipers from GSF - the ones on my 1.9 seized. They were "remanufactured" original ATE/BMW units which were just like new ones including things like the bleed screws, slider bolts sleeves and everything else - net cost about £65 each after exchanging the old ones.
