A/C Condenser

Post by Mike123 »

Any advice about replacing the A/C Condenser?

It looks like it will eventually come out from underneath.

How much dismantling is necessary?

Any advice welcome. :rtm:

I had mine replaced last year Mike.
A specialist did it on the drive and only had to jack up the front and put it on stands.
It did come out from beneath without too much more dismantling than taking out the headlights and the undertray. The bumper stayed put as far as I remember.
I had a pattern replacement part not BMW and I think he said that if a BMW part was refitted it would have been a LOT more work because it has two extra fixing points on little brackets sticking out the side.
Don't forget a new drier canister thing behind the nearside light by the horns. Cheap and easy to do and almost certainly necessary.
I paid about £350 for the whole job I think and the A/C works brilliantly now.

That's helpful - thanks.

Good advice, I've ordered a drier canister.
