Brake Updgrade

Post by Chazzy » Tue 08 Mar, 2016 14:22

Has anyone tried fitting 7/8 series E38 brakes with the E46 M3 disc as a front brake upgrade? If so how was it?

bolts straight on apparently but getting the calipers is a nightmare.

Easier options are larger e46 calipers and carriers. (£150 ish)

or for massive upgrade

porsche boxster brembos and custom adapters. (£400 is all in)

Interesting - you can get the E38 calipers for about £120 on ebay.

Do you know anywhere in the UK where you can get the boxster adapter brackets? I've only seen them on American sites.

I think BrianH has also done a brake upgrade so might be worth sending him a PM

EDIT - on ebay there are a few porsche breakers - I recently got some parts off one member called stevestrange007 and another called mister.porsche (porschepartsused.co.uk)
Here come the girls.....

The boxster upgrade sounds pretty awesome - I'm guessing that's with E46 M3 discs as well. I quite like the sound of that, and won't break the bank!

Have you looked at the PFC rotors and pads?
