My local Indy just gave me a price for front shocks for my S54 roadster - 230+vat ... Per side. That's 550 before fitting!
Holy moly.
Shocking price for shocks!
Re: Shocking price for shocks!
Yup, not cheap, have you tried bmminiparts for a price? OEM parts at discounted prices, just takes a few days longer to order.Gooseacre wrote:My local Indy just gave me a price for front shocks for my S54 roadster - 230+vat ... Per side. That's 550 before fitting!

Blimey you can get the World-beating, track-suitable, Bilstein B6s for around £180-£200 each for your car

Scrub that - not 119 at bmminiparts.com - looked up wrong part
Re: Shocking price for shocks!
Bavarian Autosport are very cheap, but the transport cost for the front shocks was prohibitively expensive. If you can find a cheap method of shipping, this is the place to get Bilstein B6 HDs.Del wrote:Blimey you can get the World-beating, track-suitable, Bilstein B6s for around £180-£200 each for your car

$178.15 x 2 = £250 for both.

As already said you may as well get the Bilstein B6 which is a standard length damper but uprated and still comfortable but gives so much more body control over the stock damper.
I assumed the likes of EuroCarParts don't do OE-spec dampers like Bilstein/SACHs etc? as they should be much cheaper for likely the same damper as from BMW.
