HOW MANY Z3M ROADSTERS LEFT?
HOW MANY Z3M ROADSTERS LEFT?
Hello all.
I have been looking at the web site http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk and have noticed that in the third quarter of 2015 the total amount of Z3M Roadster's is 542 cars of which 423 are registered as taxed and 119 cars are sorned.
If this is accurate does this mean we have lost over 400 cars?

Re: HOW MANY ROADSTERS LEFT?
One moved to Finland recently...
The number does seem a bit high though. Considering it is such a special car, over 400 cars to be crashed, rusted away or sold for parts or abroad seems a bit much.
I wonder how many have ended up as race cars?

Re: HOW MANY ROADSTERS LEFT?
I reckon it is probably about right to be honest. They are beasts of things, and think about how many Z3's there are out there, infact on this site, with Z3M mirrors or seats... they had to come from somewhere.
I have also read somewhere that of the 73 S54's made there are 67 of those remaining, meaning that there are only 474 of the original S50's
This is why they are now worth as much as they are, and the second reason that I won't be selling mine.
....the first reason? Do you need to ask

Re: HOW MANY ROADSTERS LEFT?
curiously in Q2 / 2014 there were 527
Re: HOW MANY Z3M ROADSTERS LEFT?
So for S54s it looks like 36 taxed and 20 SORN - meaning 16 in junkyard heaven.

Re: HOW MANY Z3M ROADSTERS LEFT?
You have to be careful with how many left as there are subtle differences in V5 descriptions which where not consistent through a production run, often in some random way, When we looked at this some years ago it was obvious that some Z3m's where classed as none ///M's on the database

Please tell me how to find the m's on this website . .

So on that website if you select a-z search and then BMW you can then select M ROADSTER.
S54s were only made in 2000+ (Only dev cars in 2000) hence new registrations in 2001/2/3 you would assume are those. The site says 31 registered in 2001 and 37 in 2002 and 4 in 2003. The VIN list on this forum says 6 dev vehicles produced in 2000, 43 in 2001 and 24 in 2002. Kind of makes sense with a delay between production and registration.
Mine was the second non-press car: production date 9/4/01.
Nice to know I have a rare car....
... But I use it nearly every day (106k miles!)
I have never owned a car as long as this one - and it is going nowhere!

Re: HOW MANY Z3M ROADSTERS LEFT?
After looking at the production numbers of the total RHD roadsters made we have got:
918 with the S50 engine
79 with the later S54 engine
As this is the total of right hand drive cars made in right hand drive did some of these cars go to other right hand drive countries?
South Africa, Australia, Cyprus, Malta, Japan, India, ect ??

Hello Yamsel1,
I don't know if you have already seen it, but there is a thread that lists all of the S54 Z3M Roasters:
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=34517
Not sure if there is similar for the S50's.
Editing just to caveat : this of course just details those that were produced, not how many are still left, either on the road or tucked up in a collection somewhere!
