Hi

I am getting very frustrated

being unable to add my pictures and this avatar thing, what ever that is in my profile settings

Maybe i should stick to reading articles

in forums with some input

This topic seems to come up periodically perhaps its time to have a FAQ posted as a Sticky (any Forum Moderators watching?)

I should imagine that the problem lies with the size of the files.

256kb for pictures in most formats for attachment to threads, sorry but I can't remember the size for avantars, but it does say when your in your profile section. not very big if I remember correctly.

Just checked, 6kb

To resize pictures, theres a free download from the microsoft site, which then allows you to right click on the picture and alter its size.
Powertoy resizer.
