Did 125 miles in it before giving it back.
I have to say I enjoyed it. Its not like my M - very comfortable, civilised and not exciting. As Marise said - it has no charisma like our M - but it handles well and is pretty quick.
Its safe and inspires confidence.
Will probably get one in due course - but what engine is another matter.
I'm getting old and possibly not a boy racer anymore and this could well suit what I need.
Good of Sytners, Solihull to let us have it for the day. :D

You may notice some puddles around the car -- :D
And the roof was wet so didnt want to fold the wet roof into the boot --
Cant think of any other excuses -

Great looking motor and white looks better than I would expect. I really love the lines of the new Z4, and having been a passenger in one next to PeteH, I know they handle superbly, but it seems the 'edge-of-the-seat excitement factor' of the Z3 and (to a lesser extent) the old Z4 has been filtered out. Shame.

I'd like one very much, but I'd keep RED as well...!

I notice it has a different rear bumper to the other '60' plates, most '60' plates have the bumper lights higher up ?

I've not seen that many 60 plates to have noticed but Phil's photos are very similar to the 09 we had last year.
Has there been a slight mod and this an old style on a new plate?

PS - I still want one

I think it could be the M Sport models that have a different rear bumper

I wonder how many BMW have sold to date as I have only ever seen one on the road 18 months ago, it does look fab but I'm unsure its actually selling? Perhaps BMW just use them as loan cars

I think I managed to suss that, Terry :rtm:

It is a nice car (nice being the operative word) and does look good in white, surprisingly. It holds the road well on bends. The ride is quite hard but nothing untoward when you're used to an mroadster. I thought it would be quieter than it is, having the hard top. The cockpit felt crowded to me. It's interesting having quarterlights that can be opened, although we didn't, other than playing with the many window control buttons which seems a little excessive for a 2 seater. It's comfy and feels a bit like being in a saloon when the roof's up; feels civilised and stable, but lacks charisma for me. It didn't feel exciting, no flying by the seat of your pants feeling.

I wouldn't want one mainly because I wasn't able to get a decent driving position. I like to sit up high (I like to be able to see over the bonnet) and by the time I'd pushed the seat forward to accommodate my little legs, the steering wheel was almost resting on my chest!

I don't see the point in us having a car that I can't drive as well!!!

Flying by the seat of your pants gives me all sorts of possible answers but I dare not write any of them here.

Z4

Post by Tom » Tue 01 Mar, 2011 19:56

For what its worth i think the New Z4 is light years ahead of the Z3.Since I bought mine I have only driven the Z3 twice. As far as the driving position goes Dai is only 5 ft nothing and she has no trouble with the driving position, not that she is allowed to drive it.The big plus for me is the metal roof-if the rain stops it takes 30 seconds to leather it off and down comes the roof.People say the boot space is limited by the folding roof but even with the roof down it has more space than the Z3 but not so accesable.
It is comforting to drive a car knowing that I can brake hard on a bad surface and know which way the car is going to go.It is a bigger car and lacks the go cart feel, but offers so much more in return.
In theory it is 4 mpg more frugal than the Z3 but rewards enthusiastic driving so both cars are doing 31.4 mpg and my journey times are a chunk shorter.

Beautiful new car there! Health to enjoy! I was actually out for a spin today with my friend David (He in his Z4sdrive and myself in my Z3) thought i'd post a few pic's I took of both cars!

Heres to getting some decent roof down weather!! 8-)

Lovely pics and what a comparison!
We've also had a fantastic topless day out today ......
But without suitable scenery or company to warrant a picture :(
