Dieter - absolutely stunning car...and almost perfect driveway - one Z8 for the winter, one for the summer, Aston for opera nights, only the X3...do swap that for the new X5...
Thanks for sharing. It is good to see, that some of these cars are actually put on the road and driven as they were suppose to be driven...
Take good care of the ultimate Z...
Respect.

I'd love to. I can't commit at this point in time because I can't foresee business travel for so long.
But I have it on my calendar.

I am not quite sure Dieter .... it varies but if you are there with your Z8 it will probably be twice as many as there would have beendwz8 wrote:That's quite certain that it would be fun.
How many cars to you expect to participate?

do you actually like driving at all or are cars to you just a manifestation of some sort of pathological mother complex ?

I'll bring about 540 horses with me, that should suffice for the day.
Cheers, Dieter

Does the guy in the Porsche belong to the PCGB? He drives like one of them.dwz8 wrote:Finally, some laps on the Nordschleife, not too fast, but the sound is quite good.

no, he was German.spokey wrote:Does the guy in the Porsche belong to the PCGB? He drives like one of them.dwz8 wrote:Finally, some laps on the Nordschleife, not too fast, but the sound is quite good.
Unfortunately, he kept driving middle of the road most of the time, and since this was not a race I preferred to stay on the safe side.
I think I gave him quite clear signals that both I wanted to drive faster, and that I could. After I passed him on the final straight he didn't show any interest in further conversations with me though.
Cheers, Dieter

As I said before, I have to watch may business travel before I can commit. I'd love to go there.
Is this yours, or did you take the photos only?
Cheers, Dieter

I'm afraid it's incorrect. The car was officially called Alpina Roadster V8, not Z8.garythefish wrote:Love the number plate

Well, congratulations then!Toucanbird wrote:Hi Dieter, lets try for Gaydon and yes, I bought it to keep my Z1 company. Only 8 originally imported into UK by Synter of which 3 were in Alpina Blue. This is the actual car that Clarkson was so kind to on Top Gear !!
I just love the color combo and the engine!

accepted!
although I am not quite sure about the car's denomination in the US, because there it was sold by BMW, not by Alpina. The official manufacturer was also BMW. So maybe they were called Z8 there.
A great companion to your Z1 for sure.
Cheers, Dieter
