I don't usually visit Halfords often, but I thought I'd try their touch up paint for my titan silver z3, having been disappointed with products from specialist companies. I have been pleasantly surprised by the results. The match is very good considering its hard with metallics, and I really like their tubes which give you a choice of a really fine nib or a fine brush. The nib gives a really small drop which can be moved about within the chip and it's a lot better than the old cocktail stick. The brush is good as well, being really fine and not as hash as the type usually included in such kits. It just seems a well thought out product.
I know site members don't generally like Halfords with the Halfrauds nickname being continually used, but I quite enjoyed browsing and I ended up buying a few bargains there. It's a bit like BMW dealers being continually called dealers, which is a shame, as I've find them generally fair and helpful

Re: Chip repair
Think you meant Steel-ers John. Sounds good if you can get the paint on finer as they normally end up a blob.

Re: Chip repair
Yes, sorry, if I keep complementing them they might give me a Z4.
As for the paint, you can get the smallest possible blob onto the end of the nib while its away from the car, and then apply it afterwards.

Re: Chip repair
I might give the Halfords touch up a go in future, as it cant be any worse than BMWs which at £20 is a ripp off and it always goes thick and gloopy once opened.
