Autoglym High Def wax

Post by John1950 »

I was reading a short article by Honest John today, he recommends Autoglym High Def wax:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001FEISS6/r ... B001FEISS6

What feedback has anyone got for this product?

Hello John,

It's a very good midd price wax, very durable (4 months or so)

With wax its about the preparation.

Wash, dry, clay, wash dry, prewax cleaner (autoglym do this) and 3 coats of hd wax over 2 days.

Leave a good 12 hours between coats.

Pm me for more info if required.

Mark :)

I generally buy 2 of these type of things because the cost of postage for 1 or 2 is the same....and if anyone else out here needs, I can pass it on and recoup some costs. But having read up on the stuff, it seems to be a good buy... :P

Ye gods! This sounds like hard work - and me with a bad back. But I think I'll be doing this before I bring the Zed out in it's full glory next year. It's under it's cover right now I usually get out out when there's a dry sunny day over the winter months.

I've been using all sorts of modern liquid wax polishes this last year and whilst they're easy to put on and buff down I never get that deep glossy shine even though the water beads nicely.

On the subject of body glamour, I keep a very tidy engine bay in my cars and for the Zed, I apply wheel wax to all the the plastic under the bonnet. It looks really nice - without looking silly and chav-like. It also has the benefit of preventing dirt and dust from sticking so a quick spray now and then and a quick going over with a soft cloth keeps it looking smart.

Hi Mark

I've just had a look at that site you recommended. It's very good, loads of information so I've bookmarked it in my browser. I think it's going to be my source in the future.

Thanks.

Yes, I deduce from that last "tip" with the underbonnet plastic, that you're serious about your first comment being "hard work".....sounds like a handy tip for us with "bad backs"..... :D
