Re: FULL INTERNAL
Yep...doorcards are with the trimmers, and seats etc will go in later this week...doing the steering wheel too, and the roll bars in red leather,,,
Re: FULL INTERNAL
door cards look good .....
Re: FULL INTERNAL
very good job!!!!!
a slightly different red than mine, but very similar!
the guy that is making the works seems very good
a little OT question: what is that "stripe" of fabric over the softtop metal structure?
think in My zed there isn't a similar one

Re: FULL INTERNAL
What a difference some colour makes!! Taking a little adjustment to the "porn on wheels" version...but loving it!! Can't wait for the seats to be done.
Quick question for those that are following this thread...I'm considering doing the steering wheel with (a) the top "long bowed" section in red, and the two "short bowed" sections in black...what's the opinion..will it be "too much" or not?? Or should I (b) go all red or (c) all black ?? Or... (d) Black on the long bow and red on the 2 short bows ??
a.
b.
c.
or ...d.
The end result will be a slightly "chunkier" wheel as the extra 4mm (2mm leather thickness) will bulk out the wheel grip area a tad, which I would like.
Another query...has anyone ever re-covered the sunvisors, and if yes, was it a good result vs replacement????

Re: FULL INTERNAL
in my opinion, all red or all black your sttering wheel has a "precise" design that with different colours will result in a strange joke.Southernboy wrote:What a difference some colour makes!! consider upholster it removing the black leather, and not adding it over as i Think you will do. it may result in leather that with the sun can move passing the years.
Re: FULL INTERNAL
your car may look good but its a wimp / our cars are as hard as nails and your sunny softie is a big girls blouse .ours get frostbite and you don't even let yours get a sun tanSouthernboy wrote:Did anyone notice the really great summer sunshine light in the background outside my garage>>>> No rain, mud, ice on the car etc etc.....

Re: FULL INTERNAL
Yes, I noticed the frostbite on yours...must be why yours looks so pale....
And, I think all black will be the final decision too...with red stitching...maybe...

Re: FULL INTERNAL
AND, said by a red one owner, take it black because red colour can easily wipe off, AND is very easy to make it dirt. And is way too much delicate to clean than a black one.Southernboy wrote:Yes, I noticed the frostbite on yours...must be why yours looks so pale....

Re: FULL INTERNAL
Seats dropped off this morning at the auto trimmer. I'll collect them on Wednesday together with the roll hoops. That will leave the steering wheel to do, which it seems he can't do until next year. Not too serious I guess. It'll give me time to decide what I want to do with it. Pics will be done later in the week.
Roll hoops collected today...EXTREMELY COOL !! As in SUB-ZERO...

Re: FULL INTERNAL
Thanks guys for the compliments...I'm pretty pleased with it. Certainly an improvement on the bland "Beige." - well I think so. I've received compliments locally on the streets - at the traffic lights - with enquiries as to who did it etc.
A few small things which I reckon he might have done a little better, but overall it's a good job.
Well that does it for this year...time to plan a short vacation with some good "driving" roads, and hopefully good open top weather with it....

Re: FULL INTERNAL
Cheers mate...
For those looking through these pics, have a look at the one wher you can see into the "roof well"...you will see that I have covered the OEM carpet with a layer of "Micro fiber" fabric, which is thin, soft and most importantly non scratch.

That looks great, especially the roll hoops
Why did you cover the carpet section in the ''roof well'' do you use it for storage or something when the roof is up?

Re: FULL INTERNAL
No...I did it to protect the rear window from scratching.
Re: FULL INTERNAL
Good idea
Does the inside of the window actually touch the boot well carpet though when its down? I always thought it was the outside of the window that is prone to getting scratched because of the roof frame rubbing against it.
Looks a nice job anyway!

Re: FULL INTERNAL
Yep, if you slip your fingers under the fold of the rear window next time you have the roof down, you will feel that it does rest on the carpet in the well. And, if while driving, it must jiggle about and rub on it, and that carpet isn't what you might call "non-abrasive".
