Supagard
Freind of mine buying a new car. Being offered Supagard. is able to get car for £300 less w/o. Is it worth it??
Personally, I think you can't beat a good coat of wax.
I know Supagard typically also does interior, but I am only considering exterior.

Re: Supagard
I was offered this nonsense when we were looking to purchase a VW,a scam. They try to make out you will recoup the extra cost when you come back and part-ex in years to come,Yeh,right!!
Re: Supagard
our new work car had this already done by ford and its a met blue,to be honest its was a bit dullish,so i wax ours and its far better, and because we will do 100k in the next three years it wont make it worth a penny more! still dont stop stone chips.

Re: Supagard
id rather pay a professional detailer 300 to prep a new car.
they will sort the paintwork out as well.
most new cars paint work need correcting and protecting.

Re: Supagard
The way to think of supaguard is your paying £300 for a crap insurance policy. It's a bit like the cloth protection you can buy, they work on paying less out in claims than they get in.
I once bought a genuine full supaguard kit still sealed with the dealer and customer parts fully intact for c£25. It's probably worth £50 as a kit but that's about all.

Re: Supagard
A mate of mine's next door neighbour used to be an agent for supagard and Jonttt is correct, the cost is about £25. The mark up on it is huge, so the sales reps get big incentives to sell it, hence why they offer discounts off the car price. Can't say I have ever been asked if a car has been treated with supagard when I have traded it in.
Last new car we bought they tried to convince us to buy a insurance policy to cover any scuffing of the alloy wheels for a cost of £200!

Re: Supagard
The mark up is Hugh as the dealerships apply the product.
Not always correctly.
For the money they charge you can buy:
Clay bar and quick detailer
Iron x for wheels and body work
A non wax quality shampoo and wash mitt plus 2 buckets
Zymol hd cleanse
Zymol glasur
Zymol field glaze
Job done
Perfect body work
Oh I forgot microfibre cloth and drying towel.
