Anyone fitted this rear bumper???
I quite like the look, but would prefer any comments if anyone has fitted one, and if so, were there any problems etc in terms of fit quality / finish etc etc...

I assume they do one to fit the facelift model? The one on the pic is a prefacelift 1.9.

I haven't checked if they do for the facelift version...They do make a front bumper too though, but it is sort of OTT in my opinion...check their website..

Its fairly subtle, reminds me a little of the MK1 early Z4 bumper. To be honest the stripes are worse.

Z4 look on a Z3. All wrong IMO. Part of the charm of the Z3 is the classic looks. The flame surface look of the Z4 is just out of place. The diffuser however is interesting.

aren't stripes worth 25bhp, -1second on the 0-60 and +30mph on the top end?

IMO the 4 just doesn't have any character...it's got some style, and a smidgin of personality...get on the inside, and it says....well.....nothing. :shrug

There's stuff I do myself...then there's stuff I could do myself but don't...and there's stuff I can't do...because someone else will do it right first time...Mostly these days. I clean the interior of my car...I could do the exterior but don't...and engine or electronic maintenance / repair I leave to the best BMW mech in South Africa...who has become a friend over the past 20 odd years because he gets it right first time...and all this because I really like my Z3...I'm just not inspired enough by the Z4 to have that same passion...so I'm not likely to leave a loving relationship for a "new quickie"....

seasurfer wrote:Gookah, what didnt you like about the 4 over the 3?
I had two, and to be honest it wasn't just about the car.
The car's drove great, especially the Z4M I had, and they had loads of gadgets and modern technology.

Not in any order, but:
I always found it colder in the cabin than the 3, even with factory wind deflector.
I preferred the front end of the 4, but the back of the 3,
The doors were tinny, even in the £48,000 car!
The dash was very sparse, and the steering wheel just was odd with that bulbous looking airbag.
It felt to be a lot bigger and heavier car, and not as nimble.
The M was very, very fast, but I didn't find it as much fun as driving a 3 which seems 'slippier' at lower speeds.
But thats just the driving experience,

The 'owning' experience is the main reason though.
I feel the people who own the Z3 are more 'car enthusiasts', rather than 'some' Z4 owners who are the "look at me I have this", type (and there are many).
In the Z4, I felt people saw me as a show-off, a c*ck,..... but in the Z3 its a totally different reaction, I get great comments, with people wanting to know about the car, and showing genuine interest in it (and not me, which would upset some of those above :D)
With the Z4, I found that all I could do was clean and wax it, especially the M. It had so much on it there was nothing else to do.
To me, having the Z3 is about personalising it. Changing the seats, the wheels, the interior, the dashboard, the roll hoops etc etc. Looking on eBay for the next mod at a bargain price, like the cruise control stalk I just bought, and the M mirrors for £150.
It's the tinkering I enjoy as much as anything, and the chatting to people at the shows who come to me and ask about the modifications.
I never once felt like I wanted to join a Z4 cruise.

Would I own a Z4 again?
Yes , but when its old enough to be an enthusiast's car, and has long gone from the hands of the IT guys whose watch is as materialistically important as their mode of transport.

But thats just my experience...... :D

Back to the original question, I don't really like it. Barry, your Zed is a very nice looking car and I reckon this would actually spoil the look.

SB your zed looks nice now.. Wouldn't bother with the rear bumper..

If you want to 'add' something to the rear why don't you look for some ACS rear splitters?
