SWISSVAX
.....As per the post heading, has anyone tried these products, particularly the leather cleaning / conditioning products. They have a conditioner called "Elephant Wax" which I would imagine might appeal to those in the UK or countries with high incidence of moisture...

I'd be intersested in any comments, as with all car care products it's generally subjective. Having watched the youtube clip, I was quite impressed with the "cleaner" results...

Re: SWISSVAX
The best thing to use for conditioning your leather seats is E45 Cream.
Rub some into your hands and massage it onto the leather. Leave it on over night then buff it off the next day using a microfiber. The results are amazing, soft supple leather.
This was recommended by a chap who works for Aston Martin. Said its all he uses.

Re: SWISSVAX
...unfortunately, my car is an e36...so e45 cream is probably an insult !....
.... I was more impressed with the leather cleaner ... I just popped off to my local hardware super store...they keep car care stuff too. Oddly, all I could find were Cleaner / Conditioners.... Doesn't make sense that... So went to the domestic cleaners...hello!!...leather cleaner!! albeit for domstic couches...leather cleaner all the same !!
After a good clean, I'll leave the seats etc to dry for an hour..it's friggin hot here today...then I'll give it the M/guires rich leather balm stuff...

Re: SWISSVAX
Swissvax was used on mine by the previous owner. It looked amazing its expensive stuff though. I use auto glym HD Wax and to be honest the results are the same.
Trust me E45 cream is the stuff to use.. I wouldn't waist money on the branded stuff. I bought some Zymol leather conditioner when I had my last zed. It was expensive and rubbish.. That was it!
I conditioned my seats last Friday using e45 its superb.. Super soft with no oiley residue, give it ago SB

Re: SWISSVAX
OK...I'll try it...I take it E45 cream will be available at the local woman's department stores...?? Or am I confusing E45 with something else?
Re: SWISSVAX
Any supermarket will stock it. A small tube is enough to do two seats twice. It's the cream you want not the Lotion.
Here its about £3 a tube.
I would recommend to put it on in the evening then let it soke in over night
If its good enough for Aston Martin leather then its good enough for mine

I'm very interested in your recomendation but just in case I am missing the point..........we are talking about the cream normally used for moisturising dry skin & eczema?
Great recomendation if that is the case

Re: SWISSVAX
The e45 cream is the stuff,
I had my seats re coloured a year or so ago by the chap Liam mentioned.
He has been working on leather for 30 years.
Clean your seats with dove soap and water first.
Then use the e45 and leave overnight as reccomended.
Trust me you can't beat it.

Re: SWISSVAX
Regarding the Swiss wax, I've used it but I've found zymol waxes better and more durable.
They are both medium cost waxes.

Re: SWISSVAX
I'll ask the Avon lady for some touch up for my seats
Re: SWISSVAX
Another one here for E45 cream. Makes the seat supple again and doesn't leave any residue as some conditioners do, no silicone in it.

Whilst E45 is a great product (I use it on me not the car) it won't have any U.V filters added...something to consider.

Re: SWISSVAX
I am going to try E45 in the near future... Just bought a 125g tub for £2 from Morrisons. 50g tube £1.10, so the small tub is even better value!
Re: SWISSVAX
I did this yesterday, makes the leather feels nice and silky smooth, will def use from now on!

Re: SWISSVAX
Just tried the E45 trick on my seats, applied it yesterday, let it soak overnight and buffed it off this morning with a micro fibre cloth .... I'm amazed at how well the leather has come up, certainly better than the leather balm I've been using up to now !

Re: SWISSVAX
Yeah funny that, I only mentioned it in passing to Mrs W and next thing I knew there was a tub of the stuff sitting there waiting. I was going to take it back as it looked as though it had been used, but I can guess who got there first, she's got lovely soft hands now ...Bonzo wrote:Yup, have to agree, super job.
