Number plate holder

Post by Matt_McT »

Hi all, I want to make the front of the Zed look a bit more slick by removing the front number plate holder and putting the number plate straight on to the bumper. Does anyone have any idea if this is possible or has anyone done this themselves?

Thanks a lot, Matt

Yes, I've done it. I'm also fortunate that my reg no has two '1's in it, so I was also able to buy a fully legal, but slightly shorter (less wide) plate too.

If you remove the carrier, you can just mount the number plate using the bolt holes for the carrier. It looks much less bulky.

I done it last year by removing the number plate holder and sticking the number plate directly to the bumper with mastic and edging the car up to the garage door using two pieces of foam to hold the plate in place over night. I only did this as I didn't want any screws showing. Worked perfectly until I uncovered the car after the winter and caught the cover on the plate and ripped it off !! Drove about for a month with no front plate on at all and that looks much better !

Hi guys, this is what it looks like now !

I took the holder off and made new holes on the number plate to match the holder. I have now ordered new number plates for a more fresh look :)

I'm not too sure if I want a stick on one, the thought of coming home and not having a number plate scares me :/

I have never heard of anyone nicking a stick on number plate, as when you stick em, they is on.
A lot of my friends over on Phoenix Fives have them and they have never had any stolen .....

Still was mainly a thought ................. :|
