IMHO the Beckers are the best match not only to the display colours but also in style of the unit. Note its not the cheapest but quality and functions are unmatched

There was an interesting thread HEREabout installing them and in particular getting full speed sensitive control.

I have the Cascade unit with iPod interface (the best I have ever seen on any device), bluetooth phone and sat nav. It has 15 display colour options and is a great match to the Z3. Here it is installed in my Z3m

Thanks Zim,

Deffo looks alot better and even more oem in a black dash. It looks so oem i dont even bother removing the facia unit when parking 90% of time.

Money well spent in my humble opinion. Everything else looks so out of place with the retro style dash.

If you are not too bothered about satnav then the 7992 (***2 being the red display)is the one. Dont be tempted to go for the amber/orange display which sounds more suitable but is actually a very light yellow and does not match anywhere near as good as the red display.

Good luck with your search

Thanks for the all the advice, will be looking into it, not to fused about the Sat Nav, prefer having it @ eye level anyway..

Will go home and have a good look online..

has anyone done a complete speaker upgrade? thinking about upgrading my sound, though not too sure on where a sub would fit.. lol

Zim, there are loads of threads on here about speaker upgrades and amps, just use the search function eg "amp AND upgrade" or "speaker AND upgrade" etc.....

I've got the exact same headunit.

I got the amber first thinking the lights were more orangey yellow than red but as said the red colour is the one to go for as it's a much better match. Luckily I was able to send it back for the red one.

Features and sound quality aren't brilliant IMO; it's not different to the factory headunit, but it wins on OE looks which just blend in perfectly compared to the garish Sony/Kenwood/Pioneer neon stuff.

I found the sound greatly improved over my original hu. In fact my wife was questioning me about gettting new speakers too. Maybe my old hu was a bit duff?? Mine was tape hu/autochanger and hk option. Was never too bothered about telephone side as prefer to pull over anyway but found iPod controls pretty good.

i have just bought an Alpine CDE-103BT. this has a 4 colour illumination option, one of which is orange which matches the dash lights perfectly.
it has blue tooth giving you handsfree control of you mobile, a seperate microphone (mine is fitted by interior mirror). it is only a single cd but has both ipod and a USB port.
i had mine fitted for under £250, but you can buy them for around £170 mark if you can fit youself.
i have always found Alpine to give great sound quality, and they connect to and have an on screen control for a subwoofer if you choose that route.

Got any pics of it fitted?
