I've seen this one on another forum a long time ago.
I've just gone to reply to a post in the Z3 section (re: number plates), but get the above message when clicking on Submit or Preview.
Can't remember how I got round it the last time!
Any suggestions?
Cheers,

I got this yesterday too from a computer at work. In my case I had followed a link from one post to a new thread and went to reply. "Computer says no" was the result.
Then I found the original thread link and selected reply and it worked. My assumption was that when I selected "reply" it didn't know which thread I was asking to reply to.

Well I know what the server is saying when it says post mode not specified, but I don't know what is causing it.
If you hover your mouse over the reply button to this thread, you will see that the URL ends with "posting.php?mode=reply&t=24139" - so the bit that is missing is the "mode=reply", though I am guessing that the whole of the bit after the "?" is missing entirely.
This shouldn't be affected by cookies or anything like that, so I'm wondering if you linked to the page whilst not logged in and then logged in when prompted before replying?
Cheers R.

Ah Robert. Now I think on that may well have been the case when I got this last night. I'm permanently logged on at home but was the first time our IT dept freed up the internet at work last night and I do remember having to log on to reply of course.
Reckon you got it one there!

Ahhh.
I recently found I get logged out for no reason, from this and a Mog forum - some mornings can take a few attempts before I remain logged in.
It's to do with our work system. Security reasons prevent me from explaining...
Thanks,
