Key fob that turns on internal light..

Post by Jonny 5 »

OK this has been bugging me tbh.

Im sure we all have this button on our key fob that turns the internal light on and off... but whats the point? Maybe if the extra button would put the roof and windowns up and down...

Did bmw just have space on the keyfob?

It enables you to find your car in a dark car park without unlocking it.

Operating the roof is out of the question due to the hand-operated latches.

You can put the windows up by holding the drivers door lock in the lock position - after a second or so the window will start to go up and continues until you release the key.

It would have been better if it had turned the lights on so that you could not only find the car but also have your way illuminated.

Would have been better if it located the key fob and drove to it's position

The later Z3s may be able to have the keys programmed to do various "tricks". The Z4s certainly can, as can E46s and newer.
