BMW reset tool

Post by grandparipper »

I change my own oil and need to reset the service meter. I also triggered the airbag light and another one when I did not disconnect the battery while working on the car. A regular OBD code reader wil not zero out the trouble lights on my dash.
There are several BMW reset tools available, but I am not sure if they will fix the airbag and other light on the dash.
What reset tools do you use and recomend for my use?
Thanks!

I use a Peake SRS tool to reset my airbag light however there's some recent +ve feedback on the Bavarian Dominator range. These look a cheaper alternative (even with International shipping) so probably worth a punt.

+1 for the Bavarian Dominator airbag reset tool.

Found 2 faults in my system and then reset the airbag once they were resolved!

£39.50 well spent...

Afraid its negative feedback from me on the bavarian dominator airbag tool as it couldnt read my fault codes. Took it to a specialist in the end and £10 later all sorted.

Was there a fault, or did it just need resetting? When I changed my seats over I ended up with 2 fault codes, both of which reset ok.

There was fault codes present, which it couldnt read and a fault still present, so couldnt reset as the code just came back. As I said, £10 and 30mins at a specialist got it sorted.

Interesting. I had the seats out in my driveway and turned the key on to be able to unlock the steering wheel so I could push it back into my garage when it started raining. I will look for a source in the States.

If it helps Grandpa, this is the model I have. Seems readily available in the US.
