What colour was the Chamois, because it might be the same one.. mine was white.

Mine was dark green with a white stripe - I also had a Singer Chamois Sport HKX664G gold with a red stripe twin headlamps and twin Stromberg carbs and an oil cooler for a 875cc it was fast if not a little unstable at high speed even with weight in the front - infact the only car I have ever been able to do a wheelie in

My first car was a Ford Fiesta 1.1 'Quartz' with its go faster stripes and amber and red rev lights. Great fun but forgot to check the oil and blew the engine. whoops!

The Mrs first car was an Austin Aggro which burnt more oil than petrol.

Have had my fair share of classics, but have slowed down now I have found what I like (so far that is).
First car was a 1952 Sunbeam Talbot, 2nd was a Morris 8 convertible after I gave the Sunbeam to Dad. Kept most of the cars at least a year or so to get to know them properly and still have one or two now.
I do feel sorry for our younger enthusiasts because interesting cars are now so expensive compared to the old bangers we used to find.
Her is a list of those I can remember.

1- 1936 DKW Motorcycle
2- 1952 Sunbeam Talbot
3- 1954 Sunbeam Talbot Mk 11
4- 1938 Morris 8 Convertible
5- 1936 Morris 8 two door saloon
6- 1952 Jaguar XK 120
7- 1952 Riley 1-1/2 litre saloon (Nuffield Riley)
8- 1965 Fiat 500
9- 1953 Sunbeam Talbot Convertible
10- 1959 Hillman Minx Estate
11- 1959 Austin Healey Sprite (Bugeye)
12- 1960 Morris Traveller (woody)
13- 1964 Riley 1.5 litre (BMC Riley)
14- 1961 Morris Traveller (woody)
15- 1936 Riley Kestrel (Coventry Riley)
16- 1954 Austin Healey 100/4 (Still own since 1973)
17- 1962 Sunbeam Rapier Seies 3
18- 1965 Volkswagon Camper (USA)
19- Holden HQ
20- Holden EH
21- Austin Healey Sprite Mk3
22- Ford Cortina 1500 Estate
23- 1961 Morris Mini Traveller (woody)
24- Triumph 2.5 PI Estate
25- Triunph 2.5 TC Saloon
26- 1959 Morris Wellside Ute
27- Austin Healey 3000 Mk2 Tricarb
28- Ford Sierra Estate
29- 1963 Morris Wellside Ute
30- 1960 Austin Healey Sprite (Bugeye)
31- 1990 BMW 325i Convertible
32- 1990 Ford Courier Ute (for work)
33- 1990 BMW 1.8 Saloon (still own)
34- 2000 Ford Courier Ute (still own for work)
35- 2001 BMW Z3 3.0ltr (still own)

Happy Motoring all.

Mini Mayfair - Black 998cc C723 XTP ( I loved that car! )

then

Ford Fiesta MK4 - Silver 1250cc S496 AHC ( I loved that car too, did some miles at Uni and my 1st job )

then

Proton Personna Auto - can't remember any details I hated that car, I only bought it as I needed an auto having torn the tendons in my hand!

then

My beautiful Z3 Coupe - Hellrot Red, Black Z3M alloys, DVD player etc etc. and impatiently waiting to get her back from the front end re-spray!

I feel that I have to get another few cars to catch you lot up!

A 1967 Triumph Spitfire. Purchased in 1976. It was red with a fibreglass fastback hardtop permanenty fitted. But was also pretty rusty. Spent about three months "doing it up". Remember using a quantity of metal mesh and "plastic padding" and had it resprayed Triumph "Maple Brown" - then had to work the entire body up to a shine all over with T Cut. Had all the chromework renewed. Looked a real treat when finished and really enjoyed driving it. Never "done up" a car since!

Thanks Motco, MickJ, Silly young dick I was. I owned the car for two years and then bought a Riley. I only found out last year that the XK was the only Abbot bodied XK120 ever built. It was slightly longer with a small +2 type of seat behind the two front seats. It has been fully restored at great expense in New Zealand and sold to a museum in Germany. I think it is for sale at present as they are culling the collection. Probably worth megabucks now. I guess we have all had cars we wish we had kept.

My first car was a 1966 MG Midget 1098cc registered LYO 793D. It was finished in Tartan Red with black interior, black hood and painted wire wheels.

I purchased it for £250.00 and spent a few months getting it ready for use once I had passed my test. I remember it cost me £225.00 to insure.

Great fun until 18 months down the line it was written off when hit from behind at a set of traffic lights :bad

My first car was a 1963 Morris 1100 in yellow, DMM205A. Bought it from my Dad for £85, can't remember was the insurance cost was. Got my first Z Roadster (2.2 Sport Auto) about 4 years ago but stupidly traded it for a 330CI convertible  , then common sense kicked in and I bought the M about 15 months ago

1949 Morris six, bought at auction in 1962 for £15. Sold three weeks later for £30 and replaced with a 1937 SS Jaguar 2.5 litre. Wish I still had that :)
