My 2.8 Z3

Owned it for 2 weeks now and absolutely loving it.

This was how it was when i bought it. Not much of a shine and very tatty wheels. First job was to polish it profusely with a polishing machine and paint a couple of bits.

Welcome to you and your Z3! :wave

That looks like it's got some interesting mods on it already.

Nice to see some more 'down south' owners joining up.

That is tough. Like it and the colour coding. Personally would also code the outer part of the kidney grille to keep consistency throughout.

Wow incredible transformation!

How did you get the chrome exhaust tips back to being so shiny?

Hi
Is your exhaust actually functional on both sides or is the right hand side twin pipes cosmetic only?

The reason I ask is that I have looked at both options and the custom exhaust manufacturer actually talked me out of getting a functioning system made as he said it would be way too loud? I might go for the cosmetic only option instead.

They all work. Flames had them made. Around town and below 2500 rpm they sound great and pop and bang. Above that band on motorways theynare virtually silent. I'd like louder personally. Good quality though.

WOW - What a transformation - very nice work so far!!!

ADVICE: Use a soft towel to cover the outside ot the rearwindow when to take the top down - not the missus  - that will help reducing scratches on the plastic window.

Please note that the torneau cover goes under the rubber seal...

I NEVER use mine - think it looks stupid and if it begins to rain it takes too long to close it

Busy day today. Took doorcards off and removed the tweeter grills. i sprayed them satin black and installed my new Pioneer tweeters. much bigger so some thinking required on fitting. I then took out the footwell speakers after spending a day not so long ago installing Sony speakers. These were removed and he Pioneers fitted alongside a load of Dynamat. I now have the resmblence of bass. It wont win any sound offs but its a whole lot better.
I the fitted a dash kit i got off Adam. Not sure at the moment but its better than the manky black interior it had. Id rather it was Carbon personally. Its getting there though.

"Bling" doesn't work for me at all I'm afraid, I much prefer your car with the black red/combo.

Have a look at THIS THREAD That's a nice subtle but effective change to the door speakers, just scroll down the thread a bit.

Just my opinion, don't take offence, I'm just not into all this shiny blingy glittery stuff that people are doing at the moment. But hey, if it rocks your boat then go for it :D.

I've only said something because you said you weren't sure :|

I appreciate that. Not sure myself but the black was getting tired and scratched. It can come off it's not a permanent thing.

I think the dash kit has improved it no end, better than I thought it would, I fitted the chrome air vent surrounds and speaker grill surrounds a couple of years ago and really lifts the dash, if like mine you have black seats, black dash, black everything it can feel a bit gloomy with the hood up.

What is that going across the top of the door cards :?

Inbetween showers today i fitted some Jamex -40mm springs to the rear of the car. It had PI springs and shocks all round but i felt it looked to high at the rear.
Image

This is with springs fitted. I guess there is slightly more settling to do. I will get some 15 mm spacers this week to bring them out. I cant lower the front anymore as it just rubs on full lock.

Saving for a paint job now. im looking at a Dark Silver that Ferrari use.

Loving the straight on rear shot, very aggressive! I have to say the quads look great on the that shape. You are also convincing me black grills work on a silver Z which I previously didn't like

The only thing which I'm not entirely sure about is the tinted tail lights, I think the M style half white half red would look better.

Very good styling though 8-)

As i've said in a previous post, i've just got hold of a Z3 and one of the seats is scuffed (rather badly in my opinion). I'll get pics sometime next week when the car actually gets to me (being delivered next week).

How do i go about getting a refurb seat?
